  PRIVACY OF DATA

For those sites that we collaborate with on research projects, we do not consult on individual reports, but instead compile and analyze data from sites in aggregate. Beyond generating prevalence rates of disorder, we investigate the degree to which having more detailed and diagnostic assessment information influences existing mental health practices. For example, we look at whether using the Voice DISC changes the number of youth receiving referrals for mental health services, or how dispositions may differ. We examine the relationship between the Center’s assessments and those already being used to aid in streamlining. To influence policy-making, the Center publishes its findings in psychiatric, juvenile justice, and public health journals.

The Center does not receive identifying information about any child at any facility with which we consult. All data received by the Center is anonymous, de-identified, and completely confidential.
